Is the cloud safe for business data?
Done properly, cloud platforms are more secure than a server in the office corner: enterprise-grade data centres, encryption in transit and at rest, and geographic redundancy. The risks come from poor configuration — weak access controls, no MFA, no backup of cloud data. How long does a cloud migration take?
Email migration for a typical 10–30 person business is usually done inside a week, with the switchover itself out of hours so nobody loses a working day. Moving file servers, applications or full infrastructure is planned in stages — commonly two to six weeks end-to-end — with your old systems kept as a safety net until everything is proven in the cloud.
Do we need to move everything to the cloud at once?
No — and most businesses shouldn't. A hybrid approach is often right: email and collaboration in Microsoft 365, backups to the cloud, but a line-of-business application kept on-site until its vendor supports a hosted version. We'll tell you honestly which workloads will benefit and which are better left where they are.
What happens to our data if we want to leave a cloud provider?
Your data remains yours. Part of our job when we set up any cloud service is making sure there's a documented exit route — exportable data, no proprietary lock-in where it can be avoided, and backups held independently of the provider. It's a question worth asking any IT company before you sign anything.
